These are all 4 pages, taken from the US Letter PDF. The A4 file has the same pages.

What's in it, page by page
- Page 1, color certificate: a full page with a green double border, Santa, a star and a Christmas tree across the top, and a row of small pictures at the bottom.
- Page 2, outline certificate: the same page in black outlines, so your child can color it in, or so you can save ink.
- Page 3, two on one page: two smaller outline certificates, with a dashed line to cut along. This suits a class or a few cousins.
- Page 4, thank you: the terms of use and credits.
The words are the same on each one: "This certifies that" (a line for the name) "has been checked twice and is on this year's Nice List." Below that is a space headed "Kind things noticed this year," then lines for the date and a signature, with "Santa Claus, North Pole" printed under the signature line. Pages 1 and 2 have two lines for kind things, and the smaller version on page 3 has one.
Who it suits
A child of 3 or 4 won't read it, but will probably like hearing it read aloud. Children up to about 10 who enjoy the Santa story can read it for themselves. For older kids who no longer believe, it can still be a funny award from a parent or sibling.
How to use it
- Print one page. Page 1 for a keepsake, page 2 if your child wants to color it.
- Write in the name and one real thing. "Shared the blocks with your sister" means more than "good all year."
- Sign and date it. A different pen or fancy handwriting for the signature keeps it from looking like yours.
- Leave it somewhere to be found: by the stockings, with a letter from Santa, or on the breakfast table.
The certificate is not tied to a year, so you can print it again next December.
Printing tips
- US Letter or A4: choose US Letter in the US and Canada, and A4 in most other countries. Both files have the same 4 pages, each sized for that paper.
- Scale: print at 100% or Actual size. The border stays clear of the page edge, and Fit to page only makes it a little smaller.
- Paper: cardstock looks more like a real certificate, if your printer takes it. Regular copy paper is fine too.
- Save paper: for a class, print page 3. Each sheet gives you two certificates.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free, and do I need to sign up?
Yes, it is free, and there is nothing to sign up for. The buttons on this page go straight to the PDF, with no email or account.
Can I type the name in?
No. The PDF is made to be printed and filled in by hand, so there are no fields to type in.
Who signs it?
You do, or any grown-up helping Santa. The signature line is blank, with "Santa Claus, North Pole" printed under it.
Can I use it with my class?
Yes. It is free for use at home and in your own classroom. Please share the link instead of the file, and do not resell or re-upload it. Page 3 has two smaller certificates on one sheet, so 12 sheets make 24 certificates.
Does it mention a naughty list?
No. The certificate only talks about the Nice List and the kind things your child did.
