A free letter from Santa for your whole class

Type up to 40 first names and download one PDF with a letter from Santa for each child. It is free, with no sign-up, and it runs in your browser.

Open the class letter tool

What you get

  • One PDF: up to 40 first names, with one letter per child, in US Letter or A4.
  • One design for the class: the letters use the design you pick from the 4 in the tool.
  • Varied wording: the wording changes from letter to letter, so they are not all identical.
  • A family note: the last page is a short note for families about the free tool.

How to make the letters

  1. Open the tool and choose a design and paper size. The class section sits under the letter preview.
  2. If you like, choose an age and a good deed. These go on every letter, so skip them unless they fit every child.
  3. Type or paste first names, one per line.
  4. Click “Download class PDF” and print at Actual size / 100%.

What a letter says

Here is one example, with no age or good deed added. Letters vary from child to child.

Dear Mia,

Greetings from the North Pole! It is snowing softly tonight, and the elves are humming carols in the workshop. I have a mug of cocoa beside me, and I wanted to write a letter just for you.

I have heard good things about you this year. Being kind, trying your best and helping others are my favorite things to hear about.

Whatever is on your list this year, remember that the very best parts of Christmas are the people you love and the time you spend together.

Keep being kind, keep being curious, and try to get some sleep on Christmas Eve. The reindeer say hello!

What to know first

  • Saving ink: choose grayscale in your print dialog before printing a full class. The designs are in color, so a color run uses a lot of ink.
  • Wishes are removed. Class letters don’t include a wish, even if you typed one above.
  • Names: the names are not sent to us. The letters are drawn in your browser.
  • Analytics: the page uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits and downloads.
  • Families: not every family celebrates Christmas or tells the Santa story, so check with families before you send letters home.

Frequently asked questions

How many names can I enter?

Up to 40 first names, one per line. Names past the 40th are left out. Commas and semicolons also separate names, so a pasted “Last, First” list would split into two names per child.

Do you get my students’ names?

No. The letters are drawn by your own browser, and the names are not sent to us. The page uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and downloads, and it does not receive the names.

Can each letter have a different age or good deed?

No. The age and good deed you choose go on every letter, so skip them unless they fit every child. Wishes are removed from class letters.

Are all the letters the same?

No. The wording varies from letter to letter. All of them use the design and paper size you chose.

What is on the last page of the PDF?

A short note for families about the free tool. If you don’t want to send it home, leave that page out when you print.
