What it practices

  • Color recognition and sorting: 8 color mats with 32 picture cards
  • Shapes and visual matching: shape mats and 4 shadow matching mats
  • Counting and numbers: ten-frame mats for 1–10, number cards 1–20 and a “How many?” page
  • Letter recognition and first sounds: one page per letter, A to Z, with letter cards
  • Patterns and sorting into groups: “What comes next?”, big and small, fruit or vegetable, and land, air or water
  • Naming everyday things: body parts, feelings, weather, days, months and seasons
  • Fine motor: pressing and pulling pieces on hook-and-loop dots, with a grown-up right there

Who it’s for

  • Parents and caregivers of 2 to 4 year olds who want a hands-on binder they can make at home
  • Grown-ups who are happy to print, laminate and cut before the first use
  • Not for unsupervised play: the dots and small laminated pieces are choking hazards

Printing

  • Print at “Actual size / 100%” in your print dialog.
  • US Letter and A4 files are both included. Use the one that matches your paper.
  • Use white cardstock (180–250 gsm / 65–90 lb cover), then laminate. The mats and cards get handled a lot.
  • Print in color. There is no black-and-white file, and grayscale is not a good fit here because the color sorting pages depend on color.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to make it?

A printer, plus laminating supplies, scissors and hook-and-loop dots. The listing recommends cardstock. These are digital files, so none of the supplies are included.

Is it safe for young toddlers?

Hook-and-loop dots and small laminated pieces are choking hazards, so always supervise children under 3. The pack is made for ages 2–4 with adult supervision.

Which paper size do I get?

Both. You download 2 PDF files, one in US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) and one in A4. Print at “Actual size / 100%”.

Will anything be mailed to me?

No. This is a digital download, and no physical item is shipped.
