Christmas Trivia for Kids: 40 Questions With Answers
Christmas trivia works for kids when the questions match their age and nobody has to sit still for too long. Below are 40 questions with answers, sorted into three levels. Read them aloud, keep score on paper, and stop while everyone is still having fun.

Four easy ways to play
Family teams
Split into two teams with mixed ages. Read one question to each team in turn. A correct answer earns one point, and the other team can steal if the first team misses.
Stand up, sit down
Good for wiggly kids. Everyone stands. Ask a true or false version of a question, such as “Both male and female reindeer grow antlers.” Children sit down for false and stay standing for true.
Ornament points
Draw a simple tree on a large sheet of paper. Each correct answer adds one ornament to that team’s side. Young children enjoy drawing the ornament more than winning.
Written quiz for the classroom
Read ten questions aloud while students write their answers. Swap papers and mark them together. For a full class party plan, see my 60-minute Christmas classroom party.
Tips that keep it fun
- Read the level, not the age. A confident 6-year-old may enjoy medium questions, and a tired 9-year-old may want easy ones.
- Accept close answers. “Santa’s house” is close enough for “the North Pole” with little ones.
- Keep prizes small. Choosing the next game or the next carol works as well as candy.
- Stop early. Ten good questions beat thirty restless ones.

Frequently asked questions
What age is Christmas trivia good for?
Children can usually play from around age 4 if an adult reads the questions aloud and the questions are simple. From about age 7 most kids can handle general knowledge questions, and from about age 10 they can take on history and geography.
How do you make trivia fair for mixed ages?
Play in teams with a younger and an older child together, or give each age group its own question level. You can also let younger children answer out loud while older children write their answers down.
How long does a trivia game take?
Allow about one minute per question, so 20 questions takes around 20 minutes. Younger children usually do best with 10 to 15 questions in one sitting.
